Christmas Caravan for the Homeless
What: The Arkansas Homeless Coalition Sixth Annual "2009 Christmas Caravan for the Homeless"
When: December 12th Beginning at 11 a.m. till 2p.m.
Where: Gather at Antiques With Style, 501 Maple in Argenta, North Little Rock
Who: Volunteers—Men. Women, Children, Infants, & Santa Claus
Why: To Share Christmas Joy, Caroling, & Gifts with the Homeless
Items Needed for the Caravan of Gift Giving
Adult & Children's Sizes: Gloves, Knit Caps, Socks, & Scarf's, along with a variety of Coats, Blankets, Sleeping Bags, & Hygiene Packs containing Small Soap, Shampoo, Toothbrush/Paste, & Comb wrapped in a Facecloth. Also needed are Small Food Items with flip-top lids, Snack Bars, Crackers, Bottles of Water, Fruit, Nuts, & Candy.
Teens - any gift that would work for them - including gift cards. Last year there were few gifts that were applicable for the homeless teens!!!
For the Children we need a variety of Boys & Girls Toys appropriate for Every Age Group, (Infant to Teens) Just remember that most of the Children reside in Shelters, so please—no items larger than a Bicycle. I will attempt to narrow down children's information as we get nearer 12/12 , but the transient nature of homeless families make it impossible six weeks out..
We have a short time frame to put the Caravan together, so please talk to your churches & social networks to get drives started ASAP for the items we need to provide Christmas Blessings to the Homeless.
You may drop items off at Antiques With Style, 501 Maple Street in North Little Rock from 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. M-Sat. or Sunday Afternoon from 1 p.m. till 5 p.m.
To Participate or if You Need more information: Contact Sandra Wilson, 501-580-4907 or swilson@antiqueswithstyle.com This is an Event That Will Make Your Christmas Special
