HSPC Summer Intern Program for Teens

HSPC Summer Intern Program for Teens:

The Humane Society of Pulaski County is seeking dedicated teens who have a love for animals and a desire to learn about the shelter and its contributions to our community. Teens 13-17 will partner with volunteers for hands-on experience including exercising, grooming, and socializing animals, helping with off-site adoptions and fundraisers, and assisting with other needs as determined by the shelter director. Teens will learn about current challenges in animal welfare including pet overpopulation, puppy mills, and dog fighting. Our goal is that the participants will carry the knowledge they have gained back to their communities, which should result in improved human/animal relations. Students receive service learning or community service hours as well. There is no fee.

Times and dates are flexible and will vary depending on needs and events but will take place during school summer vacation. Apply now as spaces are limited. All participants must have written parental consent and waiver.
