Bored? A little something for the kids

Toy Up-Every Thursday Toy Up will host Fundays for kids 3-9 at 10:30 a.m. Participants will take home a cool craft. For info: 228-0400

Up for a road trip? These events are a little further out of the way:

Family Fun Day, Historic Washington State Park, Washington, AR 6/20
Spend the day having fun the 19th Century way at Historic Washington State Park from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Childrens games, town ball, candle dipping and many other interactive demonstration will fill the day. Bring a picinc lunch or eat at Williams' Tavern. Special demonstration and outdoor activities are free. Buliding tours are available at regular price. Summer Solstice, Toltec Mounds Archeological State Park 6/20
From 3-8:30 p.m., celebrate the arrival of summer with an array of outdoor activities for the whole family. Try your hand at using primitive style weapons and learn a game played by American Indian tribes. Create and take home a pinch pot, arrowhead necklace and other native style crafts. Beginning at 6 p.m., the resident archeologist will provide a presentation on the alignment of the mounds with the summer solstice sunset. Following at 7 p.m., there will be a special guided sunset tour of the prehistoric mound site. The evening will end with the observation of the sunset over Mound B. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for children. For info: 961-9442.
