Prostate cancer is the most common cancer, excluding skin cancers, in American men. One man in six will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during his lifetime. African-American men and men with close family members who have had prostate cancer are at greatest risk. These men should begin prostate cancer screenings at age 40.
